Cytogenetic Analysis:	Karyotype 100% stable within male diploid stemline of 46. Cells with 47 chromosomes frequently contained an extra "E" group chromosome.; There is 6% polyploidy and occasional disparity in the size of the homologs of the number 1 chromosome and the number 4 chromosome.

Comments: Raji細胞The Raji line of lymphoblast-like cells was established by R.J.V. Pulvertaft in 1963 from a Burkitt's lymphoma of the left maxilla of an 11-year-old Black male.

		EBNA positive.

Propagation:	ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

		Temperature: 37.0°C

		Atmosphere: air, 95%; carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%

Subculturing:	Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively the cells may be collected by centrifugation. Cultures can then be established by resuspending the cells in fresh medium at 4 X 10(5) viable cells/ml. A maximum of 3 X 10(6) viable cells/ml is obtainable.

Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days

Preservation:	Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO

Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase

Related Products:	Recommended medium (without the additional supplements or serum described under ATCC Medium):ATCC 30-2001

		recommended serum:ATCC 30-2020
